Who writes Purely Wholesome Farm
Articles are written and edited by the Purely Wholesome Farm kitchen and barn team: home cooks and small-scale goat and poultry keepers writing from hands-on experience.
How we check facts
- Food safety: cooking temperatures, brining and canning guidance follow USDA FSIS and the National Center for Home Food Preservation. Canning instructions are based on tested methods, not improvisation.
- Animal health: livestock articles are checked against university extension and veterinary references. They share homestead experience and are never a substitute for your veterinarian.
- Tools: every calculator lists its assumptions and sources on its page.
Updates and corrections
We review our most-read guides regularly and show the “Updated” date when an article has been meaningfully revised. If you spot an error, tell us and we will fix it.
Sponsored content and affiliate links
Purely Wholesome Farm no longer accepts paid guest posts. A small number of older partner articles remain online for reference; they carry a disclosure, are excluded from our recommendations, and their outbound links are marked as sponsored. Any affiliate link in an article is marked the same way and never changes what we recommend.
